The "AI and Gender Toolkit" has been developed as an essential resource for teachers, school leaders, and parents in understanding and navigating the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, particularly generative AI. It provides a comprehensive suite of tools for teachers, including classroom teaching and learning resources and professional development and learning opportunities, to help build their capacity for using AI and generative AI in the classroom.

What is AI?

This AI and Gender Toolkit has been developed for teachers, school leadership, and parents / students.

Teachers

Consists of resources to assist teachers in building their capacity for using AI in the classroom and their awareness of gender inclusivity when working with and using AI in the classroom.

School Leadership

Consists of resources for school leadership, including those resources which provide opportunities for developing an understanding of the responsible and ethical use of AI in schools and school classrooms, by teachers and students.

Parents

Consists of resources and ideas to help parents and students navigate the complex world of AI. This includes: helping parents and students recognise the ethical implications of using AI tools responsibly; recognising and mitigating against biases in AI; and avoiding reinforcing existing inequities.

Provides background information on the project and research team, as well as a list of publications and presentations made by the research team. This includes: peer-reviewed journals; book chapters; conference presentations and their proceedings.
